Hold your racket loosly!

This is a key common misake in badminton , and is very important for badminton - but people don't use it while playing.

When playing your shots before , you should be relaxed with a relaxed grip!

This is so when squeezing your grip , you produce more power than when gripping throughout the stroke.

Think of it this way. Squeezing your racket makes it harder to move fast , and having a loose grip the racket moves faster , and racket speed is equal to power.

So for all shots you should do this , this is when finger power comes into badminton , and is key for deception.

When clearing just before you hit the shuttle you should grip the racket tightly.

This is the scale it should be : wheir 1 is completeley loose , 10 is fully tightened.

1-2 when you are in your base position

3-4 whilst playing the stroke

8-10 when finished the stroke to produce power.

So how does gripping the racket produce deception.

You wait until the last second then bang , you grip causing very fast movement of the racket , which results in power. So you can either not grip the racket , to produce a light shot , or grip the racket to produce a fast powerfull shot.

Good luck and implement this in your badminton game!

Net shots

The main aim for a net shot :

To make your opponent to lift.

You can do a normal net shot , which is good , but what makes a net shot even harder?

A tumble net shot , you can do this just by slicing the shuttle slightly.

OK the main aims for your net shot :

Try and take the shuttle as high as you can , this is important in almost all badminton shots , taking the shuttle as early as you can , as this gives your opponent less time to react!

Try to take the shot at eye level , or net tape level.

Angle your racket slightly downards , this will give you a better shot , and means that it is easier to produce a tumble short , which will make ti difficult for your opponent. All top badminton players , tumble , so learn it!

Dont grip your racket too tightly!

Gripping your racket loosly will make it easier to play the shot , and for deception , I will talk about this in my next shot.

But a relaxed grip is key to all badminton shots!

Difference between armortecs and nanospeeds

Hi,

I saw that some people were asking for racket preferences , the differences between armotecs and nanospeeds.

Well the overall difference is that :

Nanospeeds , are more head light , and more suited towards doubles badminton players.

Armortec , are normally head heavy , and more suited towards singles badminton players.

Thankyou,

And good lucking in choosing your badminton racket!

Play gently Not too tense!

Hi,

If you play too tense , then you will not play.

If you take it too easy then you will not play abdminton well either.

"you play best when you are not thinking"

When your playing don't concentrate too much , so much that you are being blocked by your thoughts. And also don't relax too much , it should be more on the concntration side when your playing. So just take it slightly easier for those who are always too tight , it will help you play badminton better!

Good Luck , and hope you get better at badminton!

A Big Badminton Tournament Coming Up

We have all been their , when you are nervous/anxious about a massive badminton tournament coming up.

So how do you overcome this anxiousness , well I believe we al have our own routines. This routine when done reptedly will help you overcome this.

Personally before a massive badminton tournament I always wash my hair the morning! This wakes me up , makes me fresh , and stops me itching my hair when playing!
I watch videos of badminton players , international/national bamdinton players on youtube , and think of my game , and concentrate on all their movements and where there shots are going , and why they are doing them shots.I drink and eat 3 hours before the tournament which means that I won't be hungry/full when I'm playing the tournament.

Everyone is individual so they should have their own routines , but people might want to have a try at my routine.

So people have , lucky socks , lucky underwear .

Well anything helps when playing badminton .

Anyway good luck and I hope you get better at badminton!

Why are good players always their?

Well this is a good question , how are good players always at the shuttle , their always their in time.

Well a very important thing for badminton is tempo!

Tempo is key in bamdinton because it means you get to the shot in perfect time!

If you get to the shot too early then it means that your speed when returning will be slower , so in badminton even getting their early is a bad sign.

If you get to the shot too late , then you will most likeley be taking the shot off balance and behihnd your body , this will significantly reduce the chances of giving an accurate and powerful shot. So this is a bad sign for badminton.

Proffesional badminton players if you watch them are always their in the perfect time. They are never too early or too late.

Don't believe me , go to

www.youtube.com

And type in badminton video.

The proffesional bamdinton players are always in perfect time , not too early and not too late.

So opposite to previous speculations , being too early in bamdinton is not always the sign of a good badminton player.

Good luck , and I hope you get better with badminton in this , who knows if a teenager is reading they could be the next worl number one badminton champion , the next lin dan ( well I should say lee chong wei because he is number one , but we all know that lin dan is better ( no offense to the malaysians) )
